Hut’s Hamburgers

Alright folks, it’s been awhile and I’m sorry I’ve been slacking but finals came and went I’m ready to report to you one of the best burgers I have eaten in awhile. Hut’s Hamburgers located on West 6th street in the ATX (Austin) pretty much made all my dreams come true.

There’s the swanky little dive with my friend Andrew doing the 90′s nerd wave. The Hut’s Menu is pretty large with shakes, sandwiches, burgers, and snacks. They’ll even make your burger with Buffalo meat! Hence the buffalo looming over all patrons dining.

After ordering the buffalo patty in his burger, Andrew Petty said, “I can feel the buffalo in me, he’s staring at me.” I ordered the almost beyond real and extremely delectable Arnold’s Best

which came with guacamole, lettuce, bacon and jack cheese. Being from San Antone, guacamole is something I’m pretty touchy about and apparently Hut’s has the avocado art down. I literally inhaled my burger do to its high flavor intensity. Some would call it good. I call it scrummulescent! The onion rings are amazing/hugenormous and my vanilla coke gave it a nice fifties diner feel. The place boasts incorporating both an old and new Austin feel which it does impeccably.

The diner’s slogan, “God Bless Hut’s” has a rather hand-of-God-loves-burgers story to it. During a flood in 1981 that took its toll on the surrounding Shoal Creek area, Hut’s miraculously survived. “God Bless Hut’s,” indeed.
I more than recommend Hut’s. As a person in the Austin-San Antonio area it IS a rite of passage.

Sonic Drive-In San Marcos, TX

Pythagoras is an ancient human philosopher that believed the world was governed by equations. Though some of his philosophical point of views fell to shambles he is survived by the delicious burger theorem. This theorem states that when bacon meets burger with b-b-q sauce at the precise moment that onion ring arrives at the point of origin the resultant is crazy delicious. That is why ordering the Bacon Cheeseburger Toaster at Sonic is going to make you very happy. It’s a single meat, bacon, dill pickle, onion, lettuce, tomato, cheese, an Onion Ring & hickory BBQ sauce concoction that does more justice to Pythagoras than that silly Pythagorean Theorem ever did. All those delicious ingredients are placed in between Texas toast for a bit of a backyard barbeque feel. This burger ranks on the meter as ultra-tasty. The meat has its fast-food ground beef taste, but it’s definitely better than oh say Wendy’s or McDonald’s. With those burgers they’ll usually sit in your belly pretty heavily until you think you are going to forever be congealed human meat glub. Sonic might have a slightly higher quality of meat because this burger made me happy.

Sonic Drive-In is a pretty big staple in the Texas community. It definitely turned into a hang-out in high school because of their large array of fountain drinks, shakes, malts, coneys, tots, burgers, and other Americana favorites. It’s definitely a quick, good meal that moves at “sonic” speed. The quality and price is a pretty good pair that keeps me returning. Plus, it’s a little fun to see the carhops running and sometimes skating or rollerblading around. So, go on burger-lover! Get some Sonic-love.

Saltgrass was and will always probably be delicious. They have this honey mustard, yeah i said it, that will make you want to be in porns for the rest of your life. The chicken was juicy, the greens were oh- so – FRESH, and the bacon ahhhhhhhhh, the bacon. My muy deliciouso devil of a mistress. Listen guys, I need you to get in a car go to Saltgrass and stuff yo’ face. If this chicken-bacon-honey mustard minx is any indicator of the flavor Saltgrass has, then I want to call it FLAVA’ fo’ sho’! I’ll admit I had my doubts when I saw the small burger selection, but my mouth cannot deny the extreme pleasure it experienced. Go to Saltgrass, OR ELSE.
